01 Who we serve

Two audiences. One standard.

A funder, a procurement lead and a recent graduate should each know within a moment which door is theirs.

Institutions

Organisations making decisions that have to hold.

  • Development agencies

Baseline studies, evaluations and labour market evidence for programme design and reporting.

  • Private companies

Workforce strategy, graduate intake pipelines, employability audits and market context.

  • Investors

Screened deal flow, sector sizing, competitive mapping and regulatory context for investment theses.

  • Government ministries

Policy briefs, feasibility work and capacity building for departments and agencies.

  • Universities

Research methods training, supervision capability and employability provision for graduates.

  • NGOs and foundations

Monitoring and evaluation systems, staff training and evidence for funder reporting.

02 Expertise

Six practice areas, and the same specialists move between them.

The researcher who sizes a labour market also teaches the methods workshop. The team that runs a graduate programme also designs the employer’s intake pipeline.

03 Founding principle

Portrait of Raphael Sochima Ajana

“Build the people and build the evidence at the same time, from inside the continent they concern.”

Raphael Sochima Ajana, Founder

Gmac Group began with a gap visible from both sides of the same room. Graduates were leaving university with credentials but without a route into work. Institutions were making decisions about those same graduates on evidence that was thin, imported or out of date.

The firm works remotely by design. The team assembles around a brief rather than a building.

04 How we engage

Every engagement starts with the question.

Four illustrations of how a typical brief is scoped and delivered. They show our approach for each type of client and are not client case studies.

Applied Research and Policy Consulting

Labour market baseline for a skills programme

a.The question
A donor funded skills programme needs a defensible baseline on employment outcomes before it scales.
b.Our approach
We design the survey instruments, run fieldwork with local enumerators, and model outcomes against a comparison group.
c.What you receive
A full report, a short brief for the steering committee, and a set of indicators for annual reporting.
